First things first, here's some Sasquatch for you... this takes place a bit after the last comic with words, the illustration I posted of Sassy and Neil walking (and talking) in the forest is actually intended to go between this. (hit the Sasquatch tag if you have no idea what I'm on about.)
Also look at what I did:
I designed this pattern for Dear Raccoon, the design co-op that my glorious friend Kate Hall and I are starting up.The pattern is going to need some tweaking but I'm pretty proud still, making patterns is pretty intense, just so you know.

My yearly oops...
First, have this pretty (well, my Mom says it's pretty) picture of what I wore:
Nextly, OOPS.
Sorry I failed you. I didn't finish comic a day October... but I did give it some semi-good-but-mostly-okay effort.
I've been kind of focused on other things, but the good news is that come New Years I'll be all reinvigorated and I'll probably try to post here weekly again. Fingers crossed.
Also, my last "what I wore" drawing made it onto the "What I Wore Today" blog.
Which you should check out. Unless your name is Amy, because then you were probably the one who informed me I made it on the blog.

015-016
Not too long ago my friend Walter sent me a link to this story about invisibility cloaking for tanks. I told him i would make him a comic about it, and that comic was the request I chose to accept for skipping yesterday. I didn't do the idea any justice.
sorry

Comic-a-day 001

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
Comic A Day October rules:
- each comic must be at least 3 panels
- comics must be posted by 11:59pm Chicago time
- no stick figures! (unless I'm drawing someone drawing something as stick-figures)
- comics may be sketchy, as long as it isn't stick figures.
- stories may be carried on from one day to the next
- content is whatever I choose, whether it be a comic diary, or a legit story.
Now here's some incentive for you to help keep me on track...
if I miss a day, you guys get to tell me what/who my next comic is going to be about*
plus, every day I miss means I need to add 3 extra panels on top of the minimum 3 for each day
so if I miss 1 day, that means my next comic is at least 6 panels
I miss 2, 9 panels.. etc etc
*failing that, I will use a random word generator

What I've Been Up To.
So I've been M.I.A. from this sketch blog again. My life has been a crazy whirlwind of things, all of them awesome.
The big announcement though is that my amazing friend Kate and I have decided to start a business together with the focus currently on doing Jewelry and Invitation/Stationary designs for weddings.
Here's an example of an invite made by yours truly:

Why no update?
Sorry for the lack of update, the art is made I just need to scan it and as I was one of those crazy women who stayed up all night to watch a wedding between two people I don't know, in a country I don't live in, I am horribly sleep deprived.
so, sorry... I'll get back on track soon I hope!

Inspiration Friday
I have some stuff I'm working on, but it's been a busy week so I thought I'd mix it up by posting some music videos:
Caro Emerald has a lot of amazing videos, but I particularly like the use of primary colors in this video.
This video is what made me start listening to Andrew Bird in the first place I love the bugs and the animation aspects of it.
and speaking of animation, another Andrew Bird video features parts of a stop motion animation by Lisa Barcy, who taught at SAIC while I was attending: check it out
I love a good narrative song, and narrative videos, they make life worth living. Also for something more crazy and *ahem* empowering, see Amanda Palmer's Map of Tasmania
And because I can't stay serious for too long:
WTF? Does Doro think she's Harrison Ford? That's the only way I can describe this video...

Sketch Friday
This is not the post I planned on making today, but then I read this and got scared that everyone I draw looks the same.
So I decided to test this with the cast of the comic that was once a comic, that has an entire expanded universe in my head, that will probably never be a comic again.
The female cast turned out okay:
The male cast runs into a bit of trouble in that they are all standardly good looking...
well... except the old one....
well... except the old one....
there are stylistic issues too.. that is why this will never be a comic again.
